We are thrilled to share the highlights from our Annual National Day celebration held on Wednesday, November 22nd, where we immersed ourselves in the vibrant and diverse culture of India.
Hand Henna + Diya Painting & Cultural Insights
The day kicked off with the art of hand henna painting, a time-honored tradition that added an aesthetic touch to the celebration. Participants were adorned with beautiful henna designs, showcasing the artistic richness of Indian culture.
Then we continued engaged in the art of Diya painting, a tradition that symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. Followed by one of the highlights of the event, which was the presentation by volunteers from Jagiellonian University. They took us on a journey through the varied musical genres, regions, and the art of wearing a sari. The presentation not only entertained but also educated, offering a deeper understanding of the multifaceted beauty of India.
Food and Dance!
The heart of any celebration lies in its food, and this year was no exception. Despite a slight delay, the eagerly awaited feast began at midday, courtesy of Spices of India. The culinary spread included Mango Lassi, Paneer Butter Masala, Butter Chicken, Dal Tadka, fragrant Rice, fluffy Naan, crispy Papadam, and Salads. To satisfy our sweet tooth, the day concluded with Gulab Jamuna as dessert.
It was a day filled with joy and garba dances hosted by our Indian colleagues living in Krakow.
Our gratitude and appreciation go to everyone who contributed on making this event a success, from the management to the volunteers and, of course, our India colleagues who brought their enthusiasm and positive energy!
