Purpose of the role:

Responsible for effective and successful end to end realization of ESAN Amway Business Owner (ABO) events & Amway internal events for Europe, South Africa, Australia & New Zealand

Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan, implement and manage ABO incentive trips and corporate meetings from 10 - 5000 participants and assure an optimal guest experience during the event
  • Create new and innovative events and experiences for all target groups.
  • Set event strategy, schedule & project plan, budget and risk mitigation plan.
  • Manage negotiation, cooperation and alignment with venue and supplier.
  • Budget management for events, accountability, and reconciliation in collaboration with events lead Europe.
  • Adherence to Events guidelines, practices & polices relating to event qualification, execution, and risk management.
  • Partnership with Procurement, Finance, Sales, Marketing, etc.
  • Manage negotiation, cooperation and alignment with venue and supplier on an international level – independent of the global location
  • On-site managing all situations that develop, work with clients, internal departments and third-party vendors as directed Functional reporting on events to event lead.
  • Consult with event owner to set event strategy, schedule, budget, risk mitigation strategy, etc.
  • Select location and venue and inspect as necessary
  • Negotiate vendor contracts (with Procurement and Legal) and facilitate the process
  • Support the event communication and ensure timely execution in every step of the way as the overall event owner
  • Support the Go-To-Market strategy for each event and the overall event strategy
  • Measure the success of events via selecting and monitoring event metrics (KPIs)
  • Ensure all post event documentation, budget and bill backs are completed
  • Help and support more junior team members to develop and grow

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience, preferably in the meetings & incentives industry.
  • Expert knowledge of the principles and practices of hospitality management
  • Expert knowledge of quality and service management in hospitality
  • Experience in the Direct Selling Industry is an advantage.
  • Written & spoken English, any additional European language is a plus.
  • Able to work independently from multiple locations and during travel times
  • Demonstrable hands-on capability, solution oriented and true implementer
  • Vendor contracting or negotiation experience would be beneficial.
  • Willing to travel on a regular basis & work outside of office hours.
  • Multi-tasker – flexible approach to workload and deadline oriented.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership skills. Experience in managing a cross-functional team onsite during the events
  • Thorough working knowledge of budget planning and administration and financial control
  • Extensive working knowledge of the corporate structure and the inter-relation of global business operations
  • Ability to interact positively and professionally with global customers, guests, vendors, and members of the public from highly diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing and conflicting assignments
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong customer-service and quality orientation
