Purpose of the role:

Leads, develops and inspires high performing Regional Regulatory and quality teams aligned with key stakeholders including sub-regional Managing Director, Marketing, Legal, Sales and Supply Chain to meet growth priorities. Develops an optimized organization with increased focus that leverages regional synergies and best practices. Provides credibility and passion through hands-on engagement with all stakeholders to create excitement and energy.

Provides a Regulatory and quality voice for communication, alignment and support of LRBP strategies, key priorities, risks and capability improvements. Aligns with key stakeholders to identify and develop commercial innovation and products aligned with business need and works together to drive execution.

Responsible for developing and implementing a long term strategy and organizational capabilities with focus on sub-regional regulatory and quality to meet business needs and influence external regulatory agencies. Responsible for leading technical regulatory and quality assurance for compliance to local and global standards and product registration.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for leading the Regulatory Organizations for Australia & New Zealand, Ukraine, South Africa. The responsibilities of the team include:

  • Product regulatory compliance
  • Product Registration
  • Regulatory policy and influence (RPI)
  • Monitors the regulatory activity in the above-mentioned countries for the product areas of Amway’s current business and future business opportunities in close cooperation with the RPI function
  • Drive and provide timely and accurate impact assessment of current and developing regulations as they affect Amway products
  • Function as a technical liaison both within the area of responsibility with Amway Regional headquarters in Germany and Global US-based locations
  • Represent the Affiliate and the Corporation in Technical and Regulatory matters before Government Agencies; Health, Trade Associations and Professional Organizations to help influence and resolving issues
  • Work in a consultative role with affiliate management across the region to assist in the development and attainment of Affiliate goals
  • Maintain a working knowledge of pertinent product-related laws as well as proposed changes; also, regulations concerning product registration, ingredients, claims, product classification, packaging and product labeling on both a national and regional basis, as it may apply
  • Coordinate effectively with respective leaders and staff to influence the development of local legislation towards the benefit of the Corporation in accordance with the pertinent local legal procedures and industry standards
  • Assure the establishment of sound communication and working relationships with Corporate personnel in the Center as well as with all other company Affiliate personnel, suppliers, consultants, legal counsel, public and government agencies, environmental agencies, professional and trade associations; in general, strives to uphold a professional stance in representation of Amway at all times
  • Interact on a peer level with industry leaders in trade association activities and with the directors of appropriate regulatory agencies
  • Protect the company’s proprietary information by ensuring confidential information is not released to individuals, except on a need-to-know basis and when properly covered with appropriate confidentiality agreements. Insures that said agreements are executed in a timely manner
  • Provides support with the analysis and resolution of product inquiries received
  • Responsible for developing strategy for the organization and delivering policies and philosophies that will ensure delivery to Enterprise and market goals
  • Ensure global quality standards are met and implemented within the region for local and global products
  • Ensure product quality for the region is part of the product lifecycle from product design through manufacturing and through final delivery to the customer
  • Ensure market quality needs are incorporated within global and local products
  • Provide quality input to the development along with equipment choices, manufacturing location, and quality profiles
  • Responsible for quality for all business lines in the market
  • Led a group of leaders and technical staff, located in Ukraine, ANZ, and South Africa

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in related field
  • Strong Regulatory and or quality experience working for multi-national corporations
  • Effective communicator at all levels of organization
  • Strong business acumen and customer focused
  • An enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal skills and leadership
  • Capability of directing and leading international teams
  • Thinks strategically and can lead the organization to achieve a broader business vision
  • Using strong business and relationship skills, gain trust and respect from cross-business unit leadership in order to have a positive influence and drive change
  • Ability to develop effective goals and strategies
  • Ability to collaborate and work through people to accomplish goals
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and ability to evaluate best approach for the organization
  • In depth knowledge of the business and key internal and external drivers that affect the business, including financial, political and industry trends
  • Manage multiple concurrent high priority objectives/projects
  • Experience working in a matrix organization
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to gain alignment among various groups with competing interests
  • Experience in Budget Management and projections
  • In-depth knowledge of Nutrition, Beauty, Personal and Home Care type products
  • Experience in the development and launch of Durable and Devices.
  • Packaging knowledge within the industry
  • Experience in the Direct Selling Industry and product development for this channel
