Purpose of the role:
Ensures correct delivery of goods at the right place and time against the right costs and customer expectations.
What you’ll do:
Monitor shipping profiles and trade lanes, identify and report relevant changes that impact the service and or carrier agreements.
Provide detailed monthly management reports.
Preparation of performance reviews with carriers based on score cards.
Monitoring lead times within the agreed delivery times.
Having frequent contact with carriers on operational and current issues.
Verifying and validating freight invoices.
Ensuring the correctness of documents for shipments with dangerous goods geared to the legislation of the country of destination in consultation with the Safety Advisor (in connection with Dangerous Goods).
Preparing, managing and maintaining working instructions with regard to home delivery.
Analysing score cards drawn up for the carriers involved.
Investigation of internal and external problems within the delivery process.
Proposing improvements with regard to planning and use of transport options for deliveries (type of transport or carrier).
Investigating whether new or other carriers fit better and/or can meet the transport objectives of the organisation (on time, good quality and lowest possible costs).
Preparing monthly reports on behalf of the Manager Transport.
Resolving more complex questions and problems that cannot be resolved by the transport coordinator.
Dealing with questions and problems in transport of home delivery goods.
Gathering relevant information on present and possibly new carriers.
Based on the information gathered, compiling shipment profiles and sharing these with potential carriers.
Presenting prepared tenders to Manager Transport.
What you’ll need:
Hands on mentality, solutions oriented (analyze & identify opportunity to improve service standards)
Strong logical and creative thinking skills
Sound command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel at advanced level)
Dependable, accurate and dedicated
Fluent in English and Dutch language
Ability to liaise with stakeholders (internally & externally)
